1. Who we are
DriverYatri (“we”, “us”) operates driveryatri.com and related booking channels. We introduce and coordinate professional drivers for customers who want someone to drive their own car.
You can reach us at info@driveryatri.com or +91 98777 64319. We currently onboard in Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula, Zirakpur.
2. The service
DriverYatri is not a cab, taxi, or ride-hailing marketplace that supplies a vehicle. You remain the owner (or lawful user) of the car. We match you with a verified driver for hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly use.
A typical booking follows four steps:
- You choose a plan and share your name, mobile number, city, and routine.
- We confirm a fixed quote and match a driver experienced with your car type.
- The driver reports as agreed. Live trip tracking may be offered in beta.
- You rate the trip and can request the same driver again.
Hatchbacks, sedans, SUVs, and most manuals and automatics can be covered. Tell us the model when you book so we can match experience, not guess.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18, able to enter a contract under Indian law, and authorised to let another person drive the vehicle (owner, family member with permission, or company car with written authority).
The car must be registered, roadworthy, and covered by a valid insurance policy. You are responsible for fuel, tolls, parking, and statutory documents (RC, PUC, insurance) unless a written quote says otherwise.
4. Bookings and quotes
Submitting the Book a driver form or contacting us on phone or WhatsApp is a request, not a confirmed assignment. No payment is taken at request stage. We aim to call back within a day.
A booking is confirmed only when we share a quote (hours, schedule, distance, and any extras) and you accept it. We may decline a request if we cannot staff the area, the vehicle type, or the hours safely.
5. Pricing and payment
Website prices (from ₹299/hour, ₹999/day, ₹5,499/week, ₹18,999/month) are illustrative launch rates for the Tricity. The amount you pay is the fixed quote you approve before the plan starts. There is no surge pricing and no running meter after you accept.
Weekly and monthly plans are typically paid in advance. Extra hours, if any, are billed at the same agreed rate. Fuel and tolls stay with you unless the quote says otherwise. Replacement drivers on weekly and monthly plans are included when a driver takes leave.
6. Your vehicle and insurance
Because you own the car, your motor insurance remains primary. We help you check that the policy allows an additional driver, document the car’s condition when a plan starts, and support you if an incident needs a claim. “Insured trips” on the website refers to that guidance and support — it does not replace your own policy.
You should tell us about damage, warning lights, or driving restrictions before the first trip. We may pause a booking if the vehicle is unsafe.
7. Drivers and replacements
Drivers on the platform complete Aadhaar, driving licence, and address checks, police verification, reference checks, an on-road test, and etiquette training before they meet customers.
If your assigned driver cancels or takes leave, we arrange a trained replacement so the routine can continue. On weekly and monthly plans, replacements are free and we introduce the new driver before the first trip whenever time allows.
Drivers are engaged to drive your car as instructed for lawful, personal or agreed family/office use. They are not obliged to perform household work, loading that is unsafe, or any task outside driving and ordinary trip support.
8. Cancellations
You may cancel a request any time before we confirm a driver at no charge. After confirmation, cancellation or no-show terms are those we share with the quote (they vary by hourly versus monthly plans and how much notice you give).
We may cancel or reassign a booking for safety, verification, weather, or driver unavailability. If we cannot provide a replacement, unused prepaid time is refunded or credited as agreed in the quote.
9. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- ask a driver to break traffic law, drink-drive, or carry illegal goods;
- harass, threaten, or discriminate against a driver or our staff;
- use the service for commercial taxiing of paying passengers in your car;
- misrepresent who owns the vehicle or whether insurance covers an extra driver.
We may suspend service immediately if these rules are broken.
10. Liability
We take care in verifying drivers and coordinating assignments. We do not own your car and cannot control every road, third party, or mechanical failure. To the extent allowed by Indian law, DriverYatri is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss beyond the fees you paid for the affected booking.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including fraud or personal injury caused by our negligence.
11. Privacy
How we collect and use personal data is described in our Privacy policy and Cookie policy. By booking, you agree we may share your name, phone, pickup points, and schedule with the assigned driver so the trip can happen.
12. Changes
We may update these terms as the service grows (new cities, plans, or features such as live tracking). The “Last updated” date at the top will change. Continued use after an update means you accept the new terms for future bookings. Confirmed bookings keep the terms in force when you accepted the quote, unless a change is required by law.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in Chandigarh have exclusive jurisdiction, without affecting any rights you have as a consumer under applicable Indian law.
